CREATIVE LIGHT'S DOCUMENTARY
"HAIL SID CAESAR! THE GOLDEN AGE OF COMEDY" PREMIERS ON SHOWTIME SATURDAY MAY 26th

Creative Light Entertainment is proud to announce the television premiere of "Hail Sid Caesar! The Golden Age of Comedy." It will premiere on Showtime Saturday, May 26th at 9:45 PM ET/PT. "We feel very honored to have had the opportunity to work with Sid Caesar on the definitive documentary of this very special time in the evolution of television entertainment," said Peter Jaysen one of the executive producers.

"Hail Sid Caesar! The Golden Age of Comedy" tracks how Sid Caesar put together the "dream team" of comedy including the legendary Neil Simon, Mel Brooks, Woody Allen, Carl Reiner, Imogene Coca, Howard Morris, and Larry Gelbart, for his groundbreaking sketch comedy programs Admiral Broadway Review, Your Show of Shows and Caesar's Hour. Narrated by Rob Reiner, the documentary profiles Sid Caesar the man, the performer, the producer and the effect his success had on him. It tells the real story of what it was like behind the scenes writing, producing, directing and performing 39 live shows a year, every Saturday night, for ten years. In addition to sketches from the digitally restored kinescopes, the documentary includes rare photos, personal memorabilia and recent interviews with the writers and stars from Your Show of Shows and Caesar's Hour including Sid Caesar, Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Nanette Fabray, Larry Gelbhart, Howard Morris, Carl Reiner, Danny Simon, Neil Simon and Mel Tolkin. Additional commentary is offered by Caesar's wife of 50 years Florence Caesar, comedian Drew Carey and television historian Joel Siegel.

The documentary is scheduled to accompany the exclusive premiere of the original film adaptation of Neil Simon's Broadway comedy "Laughter on the 23rd Floor," which airs at 8:00 PM ET/PT. The film takes place in the writer's room during the Golden Age of Television, and stars Nathan Lane as Max Prince, a character based loosely on Sid Caesar.
